What's new

What's new in Walio

We keep improving Walio. Here's what we've shipped recently. Where we're headed next is on the roadmap.

October 2026

  • New

Free milk with the reward coffee #

When your till lists milk or syrup as a separate item, the reward used to cover only the coffee and the guest paid for the milk. Under Settings → Integrations, “Reward at the till” now lets you pick “Free add-ons with the reward”: one of each comes free with the reward, never on its own. Works with Storyous, on the Pro plan.

  • Improvement

Autopilot shows how much its messages really help #

Autopilot now deliberately leaves roughly one in seven customers without a message. Its card then compares how many contacted customers came back within 90 days with how many from the control group that got nothing. You see which returns the message brought and which would have happened anyway. On the Pro plan.

  • Improvement

Your logo in e-mails to your customers #

E-mails Walio sends to your guests, such as the card link or a coupon, now show your business logo in the header. Before, a logo uploaded in the portal fell back to a monogram. Nothing to set up; the card's logo is used.

  • Improvement

    Till categories sort themselves #

To target guests by what they order, Walio needs to know which group each item belongs to. Categories like “coffee + tea”, pastries or snacks are now assigned automatically instead of waiting for your confirmation, so till overviews and targeting work from day one.

  • Fix

Card from a QR reader on iPhone, and days in an automation #

Guests opening their card from a QR reader or another app saw a black screen after “Add to Apple Wallet”. They now get a prompt to open the page in Safari. The “When they haven't been in a while” automation accepts any number of days again, such as 10 or 30.

  • New

A new look for the portal #

The portal has a new, clearer look. At the top of the Overview you'll find “What to do today” with what needs your attention right now: who is about to stop coming, who is waiting for a reply and what to do about it in one tap. The scanner shows staff a grid of stamps, and the portal has a dark mode that follows your phone or can be switched at the bottom of Settings. Nothing changes for your guests: cards, stamps and the scanner work just as before.

  • New

Stamps straight from your Storyous till #

When a guest pays, the till adds a stamp by your rules: per purchase, per amount spent, or per item, for example only for selected products. A cancelled receipt takes the stamp back. You can see what each customer ordered, and their purchases feed overviews of who to offer what. On the Pro plan; you'll find the connection under Settings → Integrations.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Messages when each guest usually comes #

You can send a campaign so that everyone gets it shortly before they usually come in: morning guests in the morning, afternoon guests in the afternoon. Guests who come irregularly get it at the time you set. From the Growth plan.

  • Improvement

Invoice reminder three days before it's due #

Paying by bank transfer? Three days before the due date you get a short reminder with the invoice number, amount and a link. Anyone who has already paid gets nothing, and overdue reminders only go out for valid invoices.

September 2026

  • New

Coupons and gift vouchers with a QR code and a printable PDF #

Coupons and gift vouchers now carry a QR code in the email, which staff can scan even if the guest never added it to their wallet. Plus a printable PDF in your venue’s colours: a voucher sent to one person has it attached, and the coupon page has a “Download printable PDF” button. So a voucher can go into an envelope as a gift. And you can print coupons for the counter from the portal: each piece has its own code and can be redeemed only once.

  • New

Till insights: who spends less and what to recommend #

Group your till categories into a few clear groups (coffee, dessert, food, drinks), with Walio suggesting them for you. The new “Spending less” page shows regulars who keep coming but have left about a third less over the last 30 days, and offers them a campaign. Staff see a tip in the scanner with what the guest usually orders or what guests often add; the tip can be switched off. On the Pro plan with a connected till.

  • Improvement

Card link in one tap and changing your sign-in email #

Customers who don’t have the card on their phone can get an email from the portal alert with a link to add it, stamps included; anyone who already got the link won’t get it twice. Change your account sign-in email in Settings and confirm it in both the old and new inbox. And when you hit the campaign limit, upgrade straight from the draft campaign without losing your text.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Unlimited scanners on the Pro plan #

On the Pro plan you no longer count scanning devices – pair as many as you need, such as every staff member's phone or a tablet at each till. On Growth you have 4 scanners and each paid location adds another 4. Nothing to set up, it applies right away.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

An unfinished card follows up on its own #

When a customer doesn't finish adding the card to their wallet, their stamps still count but they can't see them – if we have their email, Walio sends them a link within a few days to add their own card with everything they've collected. In the customer list you'll spot these cards by the “Not added” label, and the scanner only warns staff when it's a real problem. On every plan, nothing to switch on.

  • Improvement

Tickets for a specific day and multi-day passes #

Set a validity day on a ticket type and the scanner won't let it in on any other day; a multi-day pass gets in only once a day, so a three-day pass can't admit three people on Friday. Events can now have an end date too, so a multi-day event shows the right dates in Apple and Google Wallet. On all plans.

    How to use it →
  • Fix

Small fixes on the card and in the portal #

The lock-screen notification shows the real number of stamps (“+2 stamps”), and logo and colour changes now reach tickets and vouchers too. You can find a customer with a cancelled card in the list and restore it, record a collected reward by hand, and the numbers on their detail update straight away. A new version of the portal and scanner loads on its own, with no pop-up banner.

  • New

    Every fifth coffee free #

You now choose when the customer gets their reward: right when they reach the goal (“every fifth coffee free”), or as before, on their next visit. In the first mode staff hand over the reward with one tap in the scanner, and the card doesn't announce “+1 stamp” at the moment the guest got a free coffee. Set it in Settings → Card; collected stamps and statistics aren't recalculated.

  • Improvement

Location comparison and a custom name for your main location #

“What Walio brought you” now compares your locations: visits, customers, how many come back and an estimated revenue based on where each customer actually came. You can name your main location separately from the brand – say “Karlín” – and you'll see that name in the filter, recipient picker, scanners, exports and the monthly report. For accounts with several locations, from the Growth plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

Campaigns and vouchers for selected locations only #

For a push campaign or a voucher send-out you choose whether it goes to everyone or only to customers of selected locations – and who counts: who was there last, who goes there most, or who picked that location when signing up. The choice combines with segments and tags, and you see the recipient count straight away, scheduled campaigns included. From the Growth plan with several locations.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Locations: own QR code, choice at sign-up and an overview filter #

Each location has its own sign-up QR code and a printable poster with its address, and customers can choose at sign-up which locations they want messages from. One location switch now drives the whole Overview, the customer list and exports, the monthly report breaks visits down by location, and a scanner that staff carry between locations lets them pick the location when scanning. Every paid location also adds card capacity; from the Growth plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

Customer purchases and their favourite item #

With a connected online shop you see a customer's purchases on their detail: number of receipts, spend, average receipt, what they order most and when they come in. Type {oblibene} into an automation and everyone gets a message with their own favourite item, target campaigns at the new “Spends above average” segment, and Autopilot personalises by favourite item on its own. On the Pro plan.

  • New

WooCommerce plugin to download in the portal #

Download the Walio plugin for WooCommerce in Settings → Integrations: once an order is paid, it issues a ticket straight to Apple and Google Wallet, and on the Pro plan it also adds stamps for the purchase by the rules you set in Walio. A customer who doesn't have a card yet won't lose the stamps – they wait 90 days. The plugin starts in test mode, so you can check what it would do first.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

    How each message landed #

Switch campaign performance in the Overview to 30 days, 90 days or all time. In the notification history you see, for every message sent, how many people came in after it – even for the one that didn't work. The tiles in “What Walio brought you” open up to the actual customers who come back or collected a reward, and the delivery count no longer counts iPhone customers twice.

  • New

Pause your account, for example for the season #

Closing for winter or a refurbishment? In Settings → Payments you can pause your account yourself from the end of the paid period and pick the day it starts again on its own – and you can cancel the pause at any time. While paused we don't bill you and no stamps or new cards are issued, but customers keep their cards and collected stamps.

  • Improvement

    Automations that don't nag #

“It's been a while” no longer goes out forever: for cafés it stops after two unanswered invitations, elsewhere after three, and it starts counting again as soon as the customer comes in. Autopilot won't contact a newcomer before they've had a chance to come back, and won't send “we miss you” sooner than a week. Anyone who answered a review request won't be asked again for a long time, and you simply pick the Google review link from Maps.

    How to use it →
  • Fix

Fixes in sign-up, the scanner and history #

When the loyalty programme is full, the customer at the counter sees a clear message instead of a technical error, and sign-up now really requires both first and last name so greetings in messages have something to work with. The notification history for an automation shows who the message went to instead of “Segment: Everyone”. The scanner can be added to the home screen on Android as an app, and the offer for inactive customers from the Overview can be sent again.

  • New

    Gift vouchers #

You sell a voucher for an amount and the recipient has it right in their wallet. Staff deduct the bill at checkout and the voucher stays with the remaining balance – it only counts as redeemed at zero. Staff can sell one at the till too, but only in the amounts you set, and for every voucher you can see who issued it. You hand the link over by QR code or email. From the Growth plan; you switch the module on in Settings.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Customer tags on every plan #

Collecting interests during card sign-up and assigning your own tags to customers now works on every plan, Free included – it used to be Pro only. Targeting campaigns and automations by tag stays on Pro, but by the time you move there your segments are already full instead of empty.

    How to use it →
  • New

The card in the customer’s language #

When signing up for a card, your guests pick Czech, Slovak or English, and the card texts and lock-screen notifications then arrive in that language. You choose which languages to offer in Settings. Your own wording – rewards, offers, message texts – stays exactly as you wrote it.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Vouchers: scheduled send-outs, targeting and results #

You can now send a voucher to your card holders right away or on a schedule, by push and e-mail, in the customer's language. You target a segment, and after the send-out you see issued, redeemed and the conversion rate. Walio reminds customers on its own about a voucher that's about to expire. From the Growth plan; on Pro you can pin a voucher straight to an automation, for example a birthday.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

Full segmentation from the Growth plan #

You now target campaigns and vouchers at VIPs, customers at risk of leaving, those active this week or those who have never been in – all eight segments from the Growth plan, not just some of them. On Pro you add your own tags and interests on top.

    How to use it →

July 2026

  • New

    Your own customer labels #

Label your customers your own way – say “corporate” or “vegan menu” – and send a campaign to just them, with a live recipient count before you hit send. Customers can also sort themselves by interest when they sign up for a card. On the Pro plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

Several locations under one account #

Each branch gets its own card, statistics and scanning device, and you switch between them in the Overview. Your customer still carries a single card that works everywhere. An extra location is a paid add-on from the Growth plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

Tickets and events in Wallet #

Sell tickets to an event as a second type of wallet pass – paid ones too, and several at once. At the door you scan them with the same scanner as loyalty cards. Turn it on in Settings; it is included in every plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

    Reservations straight from Walio #

Guests book a spot with you through a public page, and the confirmation and reminder arrive on their Wallet card. Salons can also set up services, staff and calendars. The basics come with the Start plan, salon mode with Growth, prepayment with Pro.

    How to use it →
  • New

Autopilot: retention without the manual setup #

Walio decides on its own who to message, when and with what – no campaigns to watch, no wording to tune. Turn it on in Automations → Autopilot. On the Pro plan.

    How to use it →

June 2026

  • New

Automatic collection of Google reviews #

After a few visits, Walio now automatically asks your regulars for a rating. Happy ones are sent on to write a Google review; unhappy ones send feedback straight to you. Turn it on in Automation, available from the Growth plan.

    How to use it →
  • New

Feature overview on the website #

We've launched dedicated pages for individual features – card in Apple and Google Wallet, push notifications, stamps and rewards, automatic reminders, customer database and statistics. You'll find them in the Features section.

May 2026

  • New

"What Walio has brought you" right in the Dashboard #

In the portal you can now see an estimate of how much your loyalty program has really brought in from repeat visits – not just the number of cards issued, but the value in dollars.

    How to use it →

April 2026

  • New

    Scanning tablet for staff #

Pair the tablet at the counter with a single QR code. Staff add stamps and redeem rewards without access to the portal.

    How to use it →
  • Improvement

    Customer segmentation #

You can now split customers into VIP, new and inactive and send push campaigns in a targeted way, not to everyone at once.

    How to use it →

March 2026

  • New

    Personal automation #

Automatic rewards for birthdays, name days or as a surprise. Set it up once and Walio sends them on its own.

February 2026

  • New

    Coupons and discount promotions #

Send a discount as a percentage, in dollars or "something for free". The customer redeems it with a single tap right from the card.

  • New

    Monthly report by e-mail #
