Automatic reminders that bring customers back

Walio watches who hasn't been in for a while and sends them a friendly "come on by" on its own. It nudges the customer toward their final reward and wishes them a happy birthday. The messages run in the background while you look after the business.

Automations in the Walio portal: Autopilot and messages that go out on their own

Why leave reminders to automation

You don’t lose customers over the coffee; you lose them because they stop thinking of you. A few weeks without a visit and the habit is gone.

Walio keeps track of who hasn’t been in, who is one stamp short or who has a birthday, and gets in touch on its own.

How to set up automatic reminders

  1. Choose a trigger

For example "customer hasn't been in for 14 days", "one stamp missing" or "has a birthday". You pick the situations you want to keep an eye on.

  2. Write the message

For each trigger you attach a short text, perhaps with an offer like "come back for a second coffee on us". On the Pro plan you can pin a specific voucher to it right away.

  3. Walio sends on its own

From then on the automation runs in the background. As soon as a customer meets the condition, they get the message at the right time, without you lifting a finger.

What automation does for you and exactly when the customer sees it.

Example

Fresh Kavárnanow

Jane, it's been a while – come see us. ☕

Anyone who hasn't shown up in a while gets a friendly "come on by" on their own. You don't lift a finger, they come back.

Goes out when a customer hasn't been in for a while. Walio follows their usual rhythm, and you can change the default 21 days.

Fresh Kavárnanow

Jane, just 1 stamp and a free coffee is yours! Drop by. 🎁

When a customer is one stamp away from a reward, they get a nudge on their own. A reward within reach brings them back.

Goes out when a customer is one stamp from a reward and hasn't been in for three days.

Fresh Kavárnanow

Happy birthday, Jane! 🎂 We have a little surprise for you.

The greeting and a small gift go out on their own on the right day. A small touch the customer remembers.

Goes out on the morning of the birthday. The customer entered the date when saving the card.

Fresh Kavárnanow

Welcome! Thanks for adding your card. 🎉

Right after the card is saved, a welcome message with a first stamp or bonus can arrive. The customer feels welcome from their very first visit.

Goes out as soon as the customer saves the card to their phone.

Default message texts. Rewrite them your way.

On top of that

  • Attaches an offer to the reminder Pro plan

Pin a specific voucher to a birthday, an anniversary, a "long time no see" nudge or a second visit. The customer gets more than a reminder – they get a reason to come in.

  • See which wording works Pro plan

Write a second version of the text for any automation and Walio splits them between customers. After a few dozen send-outs you'll see which one brought more people back.

  • Leave watching the clock to Walio

You don't have to remember who was in and when. Walio tracks the last visit and triggers the reminder at exactly the right moment.

  • Set it once, it runs forever

You switch the automations on in settings and forget about them. They work in the background even when you're slammed.

Walio tracks the date of the last visit based on the stamps or points added. Once the time you set passes (for example 14 or 30 days), it automatically sends the customer a reminder.

No. You set the automations up once and they run on their own in the background. As soon as a customer meets the condition, the message goes out at the right time without you lifting a finger.

If the customer enters their date of birth when saving the card, Walio sends them a greeting on that day on its own, which you can add a small gift or discount to. It's a small thing customers remember.

Yes, on the Pro plan. Pin a specific voucher to a birthday, an anniversary, a "long time no see" reminder or a second visit, and the offer then reaches the customer on its own exactly when they have a reason to come back. If the offer has meanwhile been switched off, expired or used up, Walio skips it that day – the customer never gets a dead link.

On the Pro plan you add a second version of the message to an automation and Walio splits them between customers. For each version you then see how many went out and how many people came back within a week. One customer always gets the same version so the comparison doesn't measure chance, and Walio only declares a winner from 20 send-outs – and only when there is a real difference.

Yes. For each automation you write your own text, with a specific offer if you like. That way the tone and content of the messages match your business.

The reminders only go out on a specific event (a long absence, a missing stamp, a birthday), not en masse and often. On top of that, the customer can turn off card notifications any time on their phone.
