Collect Google reviews automatically, from the customers who come back

After a few visits, Walio automatically sends the customer a push asking how it went. Then it offers both: write a public Google review, or send feedback to you only. The choice is always theirs.

Why reviews matter and why most businesses don't collect them

Stars on Google Maps are the first thing a new guest sees about you. They decide whether someone walks in or walks on. Yet most happy customers never write a review – it simply does not occur to them. The ones who speak up are mostly the annoyed ones, so a business's public image looks worse than the experience people actually take home.

Walio turns that around. When a customer has been in several times and clearly enjoys coming back, that is the best moment to ask. Walio sends a push straight through the loyalty card in Wallet and asks one simple question: how was it?

But the answer does not decide what the customer is allowed to do next. Everyone gets the same offer: write a public Google review, or send a message to you only. Filtering people by satisfaction and letting only the complimentary ones through to Google is exactly what Google forbids – and risking a restricted profile over it is not worth it. There is an upside, too: someone who leaves you a message instead of a public one-star does it by choice, not because you shut the door.

How review collection works

  1. 1. Add the link and switch it on

In the portal under Automation → Collecting reviews, you add the link to your business on Google Maps and set after which visit Walio should get in touch (the default is 4).

  2. 2. Walio reaches out at the right moment

As soon as the customer reaches the visit threshold, they get a push to their card on their own with a link to a short rating page. They install nothing; it opens on their phone.

  3. 3. The customer picks a mood

On the page they simply pick an emoji: happy, neutral or unhappy. It takes a second, and you see it in your stats.

  4. 4. They choose where to write

Every customer then gets the same offer, whatever they picked: a public review on Google, or a message to you only, delivered by e-mail. The customer decides – not their rating.

What review collection brings you

More reviews on Google and feedback that reaches you in time, without lifting a finger.

  • More reviews, automatically Walio asks for the review by itself, while the visit is still fresh in the customer's mind. Reviews add up without anyone having to beg for them at the till.
  • Only asks your regulars The request goes to people who have been in a few times and keep coming back. You set the visit threshold yourself – we filter by loyalty, never by how someone answered.
  • Feedback you would otherwise never hear Alongside the public review, everyone is also offered the option to write to you only. Plenty of people take it and tell you things they would never put on Google.
  • No extra work for staff Set it up once and it runs itself. Staff don't have to ask anyone for anything or hand anything out.
  • The guest installs nothing Everything happens through the card in Wallet and a simple page on the phone. No app, no registration.
  • See how many reviews came in In the portal you'll see how many people you reached and how many reviews and private feedback came out of it.

Full automatic review collection is available from the Growth plan. On the Start plan you see a teaser with an estimate of how many reviews you could gain, so you can tell what the feature can bring you.

The default threshold is 4 visits, so the request goes to people who clearly enjoy coming back. You can adjust the threshold in the portal to suit your business.

No, deliberately not. Everyone who opens the rating page is offered the option to write a public Google review, whatever mood they picked. Alongside it, everyone is also offered the option to send a message to you only, which arrives by e-mail. Filtering people by satisfaction and sending only the complimentary ones to Google is something Google explicitly forbids (Fake Engagement policy) and it can get your profile restricted – so Walio does not do it.

No. The push arrives on the loyalty card in Wallet and the rating page opens right on the phone. No app or registration.

In the portal under Automation → Collecting reviews, you add the link to your business on Google Maps and switch the feature on. From then on Walio reaches out to customers on its own.

Let the guests who keep coming back speak for you.

Walio asks for the rating by itself, at the right moment. The customer then chooses whether to write on Google or only to you. Try Walio for free.
